Tenganan is a traditional village on the island of Bali. The village is located in the District of Manggis, Karangasem regency on the eastern side of Bali. Tenganan can be reached from Candi Dasa tourist spot and location approximately 10 kilometers from there.

BALINESE SALT FARMER

In Bali, we still could find a salt farmer who make a sea-salt manually..
They bring sea water by a self making pail from a rubber, to their farm on the other side of the beach. Then, pour the sea water on the sand and let it dry.
After that, they bring the dry sand into their hut, and put them on a special place to "wash" the sand using clean water. After this process, the farmer will bring the salty-water outside, and put it into a special place and let it dry under with the help of the sun-light, until it crystalized and become a sea-salt..
